The number of ZARA stores in China has doubled in 9 months

The INDIATEX parent company INDITEX announced that from January to September this year, INDITEX achieved sales of 7.759 billion euros, an increase of 8% compared with the same period last year (deducting exchange rate factors). INDITEX said that the number of stores in China has exceeded 60, and will expand to second-tier cities such as Harbin and Kunming.

In addition to sales, INDITEX also announced gross profit for the first nine months of the year. Financial reports showed that INDITEX achieved gross profit of 4.43 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 5%, and gross profit margin decreased slightly from the same period of last year. Last year's 57.6% fell to 57.1%.

INDITEX continues to expand its number of stores rapidly in China. After the opening of the flagship store in Beijing’s Wangfujing Pedestrian Street this year, INDITEX has more than 60 stores, including the ZARA brand, which has more than doubled compared to 2008. According to the 2008 annual report, the total number of stores in the Chinese market, ZARA, was 27, and the number of new stores opened in the year was 13, and at least 33 new stores were opened in the first nine months of this year.

As of October 31, INDITEX has opened 266 new stores worldwide, and the number of stores worldwide has reached 4,530. The number of new stores in China accounts for about 12% of the total amount.
