This Dutch designer's new work turns the windbreaker into a walking charger.

Dutch fashion designer Pauline van Dongen, who specializes in wearable technology, has launched a new work.

In collaboration with Waddenvereniging, the Dutch Wadden Marine Association, she designed a stylish trench coat for outdoor guides working in the Wadden Sea Island Nature Reserve. The energy stored in one can continue to charge the phone for two hours or connect to GPS equipment. To solve the electricity needs of the guides who walked outside for a long time.

These travel guides, known as Wad Walkers, often work by the sea. At low tide, the Wadden waters will reveal vast mudflats, and guides will help hikers explore these unknown areas – so they often need to If you are unable to charge, walk for more than 10 hours.

“Wad Walkers need to face different weather conditions, including strong winds and rain, we also considered this in design.” Van Dongen explained, so although solar windbreakers will be most useful when sunny, it is also waterproof. Can be applied to different seasons.

The material for the windbreaker is a loop denim twill cotton yarn supplied by BlueLOOPOriginals. The tie of the windbreaker has a hidden zipper, and when you open it, you can also take out a collar cap. Three soft solar panels are attached to the front of the windbreaker, so the guides are not allowed to carry a backpack behind. If you forget to carry the connection data cable, the electric induction charging system that comes with the windbreaker also supports wireless charging.

Although this trench coat was designed for the guides, the similarly-launched solar shirts introduced by vanDongen were designed for the public, although they have not yet been sold.

This solar shirt can store more energy and can be charged for hours. Supported charging devices include smartphones, MP3 players, cameras, GPS devices and Other USB rechargeable devices. If you do not need to charge for the time being, the power in the shirt will be reserved for later use.
